I Don't Have to Sell My Soul, He's Already In Me

Formed in 1984 The Stone Roses are perhaps mainly known for influencing the sound of britpop giants Oasis. If the Roses' lush and riff laden songs never reached the ears of the brothers Gallagher, Noel and Liam might of never had a worldwide forum to stage their sibling bickering. The Stone Roses consisted of vocalist Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani and drummer Reni. The Manchester based foursome released The Stone Roses in 1989, featuring singles such as  "She Bangs The Drum" and "I Wanna Be Adored". Squire's masterful guitarwork and Brown's emotive yet unpolished vocals propelled The Stone Roses to the forefront of the UK indie scene. The record peaked at #19 on the album charts and #86 across the pond in the Billboard 200.

Second Coming, the follow up to their self titled debut was released five years later in 1994."Love Spreads" was the lead single and ended up being their biggest hit, charting all the way at #2. Much like the personal rift that developed between Morrissey and Johnny Marr of The Smiths, Squire and Brown experienced their own falling out and the Roses disbanded in 1996. Recently Squire responded to rumors of a Stone Roses reunion with an adamant yet brief art project.
